Apple Music’s new $5 plan only works with Siri

Apple thinks it has a simple way to improve apple music adoption: control limits in return for lower costs. The company has introduced Apple Music’s voice plan that offers access to complete song catalogs with only $ 5 per month, as long as you are willing to just rely on siri control. It is ideally located for homepod and airpod owners and other people who are more likely to use assistant sounds rather than pressing their phone.

New levels will be available later in 17 countries, including the US, Britain and Canada. You can start the trial by asking for Siri to “start a trial of my Apple music voice.”

The discount rate is of course not new to music streaming. However, they tend to be a student plan available for a relatively small piece of population. Apple clearly bets that music voice plans will not only reach a wider audience, but attack interesting balance between free offers supported by advertisements such as Spotify and $ 10-plus you will pay per month for conventional services.

There are catches, of course. Siri control means investing in Ecosystem Apple – you have to pay regular rates if you use a platform like Android. And this really works if your favorite music is easy to play using sound control. Voice plan will not be ideal if you like the form of classical or certain electronic music, for example. If you tend to stick to the popular genre or more depend on the playlist, you might not mind compromise.
